Mardi Gras in New Orleans.
You’ve heard about it, and since I keep getting asked how many beads I acquired, I assume many of you are missing a big part of what really happens during Mardi Gras. It’s actually a very family oriented event!
The activities you’ve heard most about, only happen within a few short blocks on Bourbon Street, whereas the family friendly Mardi Gras festivities stretch the length of St. Charles Avenue and beyond.
For those of you curious about a stroll down Bourbon Street on Fat Tuesday, I videotaped the crowds as I walked through…

I’ve never been there. Would you agree that it is quite passive during the day time and change significantly after dinner hour?

Hey Jason – sorry I wasn’t notified you left a comment! I can’t really say, on Fat Tuesday, I headed back to the hotel at dinner and didn’t go back. I’ll tell you this… it wasn’t passive on those few blocks in the French District during the day either. But everywhere else was family friendly… except for the guy wearing chaps… and nothing else.
