I haven’t had the pleasure of attending a Walled Lake School District theatrical production before last night. As is typical with most parents, as soon as their child signs up to be involved, presence is voluntarily obligatory. I was excited to hear my son play with the orchestra accompanying the actors singing in Walled Lake Northern’s production of CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG.
Once again I was impressed with the quality of Walled Lake Schools Performing Arts Department. I found myself forgetting I was watching high school theater several times throughout the evening because the quality of some individual performances were exceptional. They will have wonderful stage careers should they choose. The production required several child performers as well, all a treat to watch. Props were well thought out and quality made, the school even brought the car in from the Broadway production!
CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG was one of my favorite childhood movies and being transported back with the music was endearing. I had forgotten how much I loved Hushabye Mountain. Of course, the main score CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG has been playing over & over in my head since. I’m a proud mother, knowing my son is part of the beautiful music being played.
Here are a few scenes I took pictures of:
